Wayne Allen, Marshalltown

Wayne Allen, 86, of Marshalltown, died of emphysema on Jan. 23, 1995, at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Funeral services will be Jan. 26 at 10:30 a.m. at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. Clergy Randall W. Allen will officiate the ceremony with burial at the Winterset Cemetery. Visitation will be today. Wednesday, from noon until 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. family visitation will be 3-4 and 7-8 p.m.

He was born in St. Charles on May 4, 1908 to Ernest N. and Bertha M. (Corsbie) Allen. He married Lillian E. Dorrell in Bridgewater on June 12, 1927. He later married Betty Warren on Jan. 9, 1964 in Hiawatha, Kansas. He was a retired farmer and had been a lifetime resident of Winterset before moving to Marshalltown three years ago.

He was preceded in death by his parents; both wives; and one sister.

Surviving relatives include one son, Bob Allen and wife Roberta of Marshalltown; two step-daughters, Beatrice Iiams and husband Dwayne of Murray and Donna Phillips and husband Leon of Peru; two grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great- grandchild.
