EARLHAM, IA. - Kenneth Allen, 81, of rural Earlham died of a heart attack Wednesday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Worthington United Methodist church.

Burial will be in Worthington Church Cemetery.

Mr. Allen was born in Madison County and lived near Earlham all his life. He was a farmer and an U.S. Army veteran from World War II. He was a member of Worthington United Methodist Church and the Farm Bureau.

He is survived by his wife, Myrtle; three sons, Francis of Albuquerque, N.M., Randal of Los Angles and John of Creston; two daughters, Beverly Handley of Glenwood and Marcia Linderman of Des Moines; a sister, Wilma Henrich of Winterset; and 10 grandchildren.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, where the family will greet visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Mr. Allen's church or to the Bethel Mission in Des Moines.

Kenneth Allen, rural Earlham

Services for Kenneth Allen, 81, rural Earlham, who died Nov. 15 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, were held Saturday, Nov. 18, at the Worthington United Methodist Church with the Rev. Nova Wells officiating. Burial was at the Worthington Church Cemetery.

Born in Madison County on April 12, 1908, he was the son of Melvin and Cora Husted Allen. He was a retired farmer and was married to Myrtle Chamberlain of Nov. 22, 1942 in Madison County.

Mr. Allen was a lifetime resident, a member of the Worthington Church and the Farm Bureau. He graduated from Winterset High School and Coe College in Cedar Rapids and was a World War II Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Myrtle of rural Earlham; sons, Francis of Albuquerque, N.M., Randal of Los Angeles, Calif., and John of Creston; daughters, Beverly Handley of Glenwood and Marcia Linderman of Des Moines; a sister Wilma Henrich of Winterset; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and five sisters.

Note: Kenneth's full name is Oscar Kenneth Allen.
