E. E. HATFIELD Was Native Of Indiana

E. E. Hatfield, whose death May 6 was reported in the Madisonian last week, was a native of Indiana but had lived in Iowa most of his life.

He was the son of Vinton and Mary Hatfield, and was born Dec. 1, 1862, in LaPorte county, Indiana. He came to Iowa as a young man, and was married to Estella Ellison on Jan. 19, 1888. They were the parents of nine children, all of whom are still living.

Following his marriage he lived in Indiana for 10 years, moving to Iowa in 1899, where the remainder of his life was spent, with the exception of a few months in Colorado with a son, Harold Hatfield. His wife died in 1919.

He leaves the nine children: Mrs. Belle Rogers of Winterset, Earl Hatfield of Norwalk, Glen Hatfield of St. Charles, Roy Hatfield of Lorimor, Harold Hatfield of Greeley, Colo., Mrs. Hazel Bates of North Hollywood, Calif., Mrs. Faye Gillespie of Greenfield, Frank Hatfield of Macksburg, and Lloyd Hatfield of Canoga Park, Calif. He also leaves 28 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held last Thursday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home in charge of the Rev. W. A. Samp, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made at the Pleasant View cemetery in Webster township.
