FORMER RESIDENT BURIED AT WINTERSET

Gail Allen, a native of Madison county, died Tuesday Aug, 21, at a hospital in Independence, after an illness of five months. He was 60 years of age.

Mr. Allen was born here Aug 29, 1901, a son of Albert and Mahalia Allen, and spent his early life here. In recent years he had made his home at Ottumwa.

His wife preceded him in death. He leaves four sons, Daryl, Keith, Merrill and Don; four daughters, Mrs. Darlene Boatman, Mrs. Loran Graham, Mrs. Edna Reed and Shirley Allen; a brother, Vernon Allen of Texas; and six sisters, Mrs. Elsie KIrk and Mrs. Cecil Osborn of Winterset, Mrs. Pearl Perry of Des Moines, Mrs. Nata Wilkins of Lake City, Nebr., Mrs. Edith Graham of Francis, Wash., and Mrs. Leona Shelly of Cedar Rapids.

Funeral services and burial were held Saturday in Ottumwa.
