MRS. EARL ALLEN DIES SATURDAY

Long-Time St. Charles Resident Dies at Age of 80 Years

Mrs. Earl Allen of St. Charles, a life-long resident of Madison county, died Saturday, June 3 at a St. Charles nursing home. She was 80 years of age.

Mrs. Allen had been a resident of the St. Charles community since 1934. She was a member of the Methodist church.

She was the former Esther E. McMichael, daughter of James and Mary Gambel McMichael and was born in Madison county Nov. 25, 1886. She was married Dec. 25, 1907, to Richard Earl Allen, who survives her.

She also leaves six children, Mrs. Barney Schumacher of St. Charles, Clarence Allen of Bond, Colo., Mrs. Robert Povich of Denver, Colo., Glenn Allen of St. Charles, Earnest Allen of Grimes and Robert Allen of Prole. She also leaves 21 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday from the St. Charles Methodist church, in charge of the Rev. James Louk. Burial was made in Mt. Pelier cemetery at Patterson.
