Betty Jean Dooley, 50, of Burt, died June 19, 1994 at the Kossuth County Hospital, Algona. Funeral services were June 22, 1994 at the Burt Community Center with services being conducted by Kenneth Whalin and Bernice Rizor. A second service was held at Collins Funeral Home June 23. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 12, 1943 in Madison County to Edward and Lela Curtis Hircock of Earlham. She married Jerry Alan Dooley of Burt, on April 20, 1974 at the Early Chapel Church in Madison County. She graduated from the Iowa School for the Deaf in Council Bluffs in 1963. She was a homemaker and worked in the Earlham Care Center for several years and then with Goodwill Industries in Des Moines. She was a member of the Tri-State Association for the Deaf in Dubuque, the Mason City and Fort Dodge chapters of the North Centeral Clubs of the Deaf, and the National Fraternity for the Deaf in Cedar Rapids.
Surviving relatives include her husband; parents; two brothers, Don Hircock of Earlham and Dale Hircock of Des Moines; and two sisters, Diana Love of Earlham, and Peggy Higgins of Jackson, Wyo.
