Irma Algreen, Earlham

Irma L. Algreen, 71, of Earlham died of a heart attack May 31, 2002, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Memorial services were held Sunday June 2, at Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham with the Rev. Eldon Cole officiating. Private burial of the cremains was at Earlham Cemetery.

Irma Algreen was born March 21, 1931 in Lorimor. She grew up in various places in the Midwest. She spent some time as a child with Mildred and Walton Emmett in Thayer and with Harry and Nina Algreen in southern Iowa. On June 17, 1948, she married Donald Algreen in Missouri. She and her family lived on a farm near Pitzer before moving to Earlham in 1959, where she resided until her death.

She was preceded in death by two sons.

She is survived by her husband, Donald of Earlham; a daughter, Kathy Algreen of Nogales, Ariz.; four sisters, Mary Conley of Des Moines, Loretta Ballos of Earlham, Virginia Dunn (husband Jim) of Glencoe, Minn., and Shirley Haynes (husband George) of Scranton, Ark.; and three grandchildren.
