E. EUGENE DRAKE, Winterset

Services for E. Eugene Drake, 75, rural Winterset, who died Oct. 9, 1983, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 13 at the Foursquare Church with the Rev. Charles Updike officiating. Burial will be at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born June 8, 1908 in Madison County, he was the son of Everett and Dicy Wight Drake. He spent most of his life in the county as a farmer and was a member of the First Christian Church, the Masons, and was a retired member of the Teamsters Union. He retired in 1980.

On Sept. 14, 1931, he was married to Helen Holmes at Seward, Neb.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Ann Drake of Des Moines; a brother, George Drake of Ottawa, Kans.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a brother and a sister.
