EVERETT E. DRAKE Died Last Friday

Everett E. Drake, prominent Webster township farmer, and a life-long resident of this county, died last Friday at the age of 80 years.

Mr. Drake was a member of a pioneer family in Webster township. His parents were John R. and Amanda Rigler Drake, and he was one of seven children. The father homesteaded a farm in Webster township in 1854.

When he was two years old his father died. His mother later married Otho Davis, on whose farm two miles northwest of the Drake homestead, Everett Drake was reared. When he was 18 years of age, he went into partnership with his brother, John, in farming the Drake homestead. This partnership lasted until the death of his brother, after which he took full charge.

He was married March 21, 1889 to Dicy Altona Wight. They were the parents of three sons, and a daughter, who died in infancy. Mrs. Drake died last May 12.

He is survived by three sons, George Drake and Edgar Drake of Webster township, and Eugene Drake of Winterset; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday from Ramsey-Richards funeral home in Winterset, in charge of the Rev. A R. Weed of Tingley. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
