VELMA D. STEVENS, Winterset

Funeral services for Velma D. Stevens, 85, will be held Thurs., April 9 at 10:30 a.m. at First United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. David Bauer officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home. Mrs. Stevens died April 6, 1992 at Bethesda Care Center, where she was a resident.

A lifelong Winterset resident, she was born January 14, 1907 in Villisca to Harry E. and Belle (Cohoon) Breese and married Emil E. Stevens on August 23, 1927 in Creston. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons and a brother.

Surviving are two sons, Larry W. of Des Moines and Jack E. of Salina, Kan.; a daughter, Marilyn J. Gentry of Red Oak; a brother, Eldon L. Breese of Creston; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at Villisca Cemetery.
