DR. C. L. STANLEY, Of Cumming Dies

Dr. Cletus L. Stanley, 77, of Cumming died at Veteran's Hospital in Des Moines, Sunday, March 31, 1974, after a year long illness.

Dr. Stanley was born at Earlham on October 13, 1896, the son of Charles and Margaret Stanley. He was a graduate in Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University and practiced at Cumming for 50 years.

Dr. Stanley was a member of the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association, the American Legion and St. John's Catholic Church in Cumming.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys; a son, Richard G. Stanley of rural Cumming; three brothers: Ralph and Wayne of Earlham and Clifford of Dexter; two sisters: Mrs. Helen Hougham of Adel and Mrs. Leah Cook of Earlham; and three grandchildren, Pamela, Michael and Patricia Stanley.

Funeral services were held this morning (Wednesday), April 3 from St. John's Catholic Church in Cumming, with burial in the Earlham Cemetery.

Cletus Stanley dies at Cumming

Dexter: A former resident of the Dexter-Earlham area, Dr. Cletus L. Stanley, 77, a Cumming’s veterinarian, died of cancer Sunday at Veterans Hospital after an illness of a year. Last rites were held Wednesday at St. John’s Catholic Church in Cumming, with burial at Earlham.

Born in Earlham, he had practiced at Cumming for 50 years. He was a graduate of Iowa State University and was a member of Iowa Veterinary Medical Association, American Legion and St. John’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include his widow, Gladys, a son, Richard G. of Cumming; three brothers Ralph and Wayne, both of Earlham and Clifford of Dexter; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Hougham of Adel and Mrs. Leah Cook of Earlham and three grandchildren.
