Death of Mrs. Joshua Aikins

Mrs. Joshua Aikins, who has lived here eighteen years, died Wednesday afternoon at her home in the southwest part of town, at the age of 70 years, from cancer of the stomach. She had not been well for a number of years, but she just took seriously ill two weeks ago. She was born in Ohio in 1853. She is survived by her husband and a sister. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church, tomorrow afternoon, Sept. 7th at two o'clock. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.

Almira Way Aikin was born in Ohio, Jan. 10, 1853 and departed this life at her home in Winterset, Sept. 5, 1923. She was united in marriage to Joshua Aikin, April 25, 1906 and lived in their home in Winterset until her death.

She united with the Methodist Episcopal church in early life and was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church of Winterset at the time of her death. She leaves to mourn her death, a husband, one sister, two brothers and other relatives, besides a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the M.E. church, conducted by Rev. D. J. Shenton. Interment in the Winterset cemetery.
