Services for Meredith L. Adams, 71, Earlham, who died of a heart attack at his home Oct. 6, were held Thursday, Oct. 8, at the United Methodist Church of Dexter with the Rev. Roxanne Miller-Sinclair officiating. Burial was at the Earlham Cemetery.
Mr. Adams was born at Mendon, Mo., the son of Mable Jackson Adams and Cleve Adams. He was married to Laveta Littrell on Nov. 5, 1932. A retired farmer, he spent most of his life in the Earlham area.
Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one grandson.
Survivors include his wife; children, Jo Ann Sell of Ames, Jean Bruening of St. Paul, Minn., Merrill Adams of Menlo, and Darrell, Harold and Leonard, all of Earlham; sisters, Estelle Power of Liberty, Mo., and Lucille Caudle of Van Meter; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Meredith was united in marriage with Laveta Littrell on November 5, 1932. He was a retired farmer who spent most of his life in the Earlham area.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one grandson. His survivors are his wife Laveta; six children, JoAnn Sell of Ames, Jean Bruening of St. Paul, Minnesota, Merrill Adams of Menlo, Darrell, Harold and Leonard Adams all of Earlham; two sisters, Estelle Power of Liberty, Missouri and Lucille Caudle of Van Meter; 17 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Rev. Roxanne Miller-Sinclair officiated at the service on October 8, 1987 at the United Methodist Church, Dexter, Iowa. Robert Lawson provided organ music. Pallbearers were James Ross, Marion Patience, Paul Schafer, Kenneth Young, Robert Bodwell and Cyrus McDonald. Honorary pallbearers were Richard Rinard, Wayne Swallow, Donald Ross and James Troutman. Interment was in Earlham Cemetery, Earlham, Iowa.
