RAY AIKIN, Orient Died Last Friday

Ray Aikin of Orient, a resident of Madison and Adair counties most of his life, died Friday, April 3, 1964, at his farm home. He was 63 years of age.

Mr. Aikin was born in Madison county Jan. 22, 1896, a son of Lewis and Lena Blohm Aikin. His life was spent in farming. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post at Marshalltown.

He was married at Adel April 11, 1925, to Edna Trester. They were parents of six children. One son, Robert preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife; three daughers, Mrs. Corinne Eivins of Marshalltown, Mrs. Florence Thomas of Winterset, and Mrs. Margaret Blair of Macksburg; two sons, Russell E. Aikin of Richland, Mo., and Keith E. Aikin of Marshalltown; 14 grandchildren; two brothers, Gilbert Aikin of Van Meter and Emory Aikin of Loveland, Colo.; and four sisters, Mrs. Charles Lonnecker and Mrs. Vern Ritter of Winterset, and Mrs. Fay Burger and Mrs. Opal Burger of Van Meter.

Funeral services were held Monday from the First Methodist church of Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Donald Frank of Macksburg and the Rev. John Porath of Winterset. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
