April 1960EZIA T. EVISON DIES AT 83 YEARS
Funeral Services Set This Thursday at Richards Parlors
Ezia T. Evison, a resident of Madison county for half a century, died Monday, April 18, at his home in Winterset. He was 83 years of age.
Mr. Evison was a native of Crawford county, where he was born Dec. 25, 1876, a son of Robert and Rachel Vandewater Evison. For many years he had engaged in farming near Truro, but retired in 1943 and moved to Winterset.
He was married at Jefferson, Ia., in 1903, to Mary Kirby, who survives him. He also leaves two sons, Robert Evison of California and William Evison of Truro; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Smith of Winterset, Mrs. Edna Deets of Earlham; Mrs. Merle McMichael of Truro; and Mrs. Etta Bailey; a step-daughter of Winterset; 18 grandchildren; two brothers, Jay and Frank Evison of Winterset; and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Reed of Winterset and Mrs. Myrtle McMinimee of Denison.
Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Nazel. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
