Had Worked As Barber in This Community About Half Century

Chancey S. Miller, a Winterset barber for about half a century, died last Wednesday, Feb. 15, at a hospital in Des Moines. He was 82 years of age.

Mr. Miller was born at Winterset Dec. 2, 1884, a son of Brice S. and Mary Jane Stanley Miller. His active life was spent as a barber in Winterset. He had been retired in recent years, living on his farm in Scott township.

He was married here on Oct. 19, 1904 to Julia A. McKee, who survives him. He also leaves a daughter, Mrs. Glenn Black of near Winterset; five grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Wilson Funeral home in charge of the Rev. Melvin R. Mattox, pastor of the Grace Baptist church of Winterset. Burial was made in Union Chapel cemetery.
