Lawrence Owen Douglas, son of William and Mary C. Douglas was born at Valley Junction, now West Des Moines, on January 26, 1900 and departed from this life on December 12, 1955 at the home of Lloyd Jones of Winterset, while engaged in his work. Cause of his death was Coronary Thrombosis (Heart Attack) at the hour of 12 o'clock noon.

Lawrence was at the age of 55 years, 10 months and 16 days at the time of his death. On December 25, 1924 he was united in marriage to Zola May Hamblin at the bride's home near Pitzer. To this union God blessed them with three daughters and one son.

Evelyn Marie, wife of C. Edwin Shetterly of Des Moines; Betty Jean, wife of Robert Reynolds of Earlham; twins, Wayne Douglas of Minnesota Bible College, Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Wilma Kathleen, wife of Richard Bobenhouse of Des Moines.

He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife and children, five grandchildren, Maxine, Carol and Patricia Shetterly; Sharon and Richard Wayne Reynolds; 11 nephews and four nieces. Two brothers, Orval Douglas of Deer Lodge, Montana; Delbert Douglas of Prairie Du Sac, Wisconsin; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Lewellen of Carson, Iowa and Mrs. Golda McKibben of Des Moines, and many cousins and a host of friends.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his father and mother and a brother and sister in infancy.

On July 15, 1923 Lawrence obeyed the gospel of the Lord and was buried with his Lord in Christian baptism at the Early Chapel church later transferring to the Church of Christ at Earlham, and was faithful to this calling until death.

L. O. DOUGLAS OF EARLHAM DIES

Well-Known Resident of This County Stricken by Heart Attack

L. O. Douglas of Earlham, a well known Madison county resident, died suddenly Monday, Nov. 12, following a heart attack. He was 55 years of age.

Mr. Douglas was a Madison county farmer through most of his active years. In recent years he had made his home in Earlham. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Shetterly of Des Moines, Mrs. Betty Reynolds of Earlham, and Mrs. Wilma Bobenhouse of Des Moines; a son wayne Douglas, who attends Minneapolis Bible college in Minneapolis; two brothers, Orville Douglas of Montana and Delbert Douglas of Wisconsin; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Llewellan of Carson, Ia., and Mrs. Golda McKibben of Des Moines; and several grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Earlham Church of Christ. Burial will be made in the Earlham cemetery.
