1964DUANE WILSON DIES AT AGE OF 36 YEARS
Duane Wilson, who was born in Winterset August 20, 1928, the son of Carl and Helen Powers Wilson, died unexpectedly Tuesday, November 17th at his home in Newton. Death resulted from a heart attack.
When he was a small boy the family moved to Ames where he graduated from Iowa State University. He served in the navy from 1950 to 1953. In June 1953 he joined the Maytag company as an industrial engineer junior and at the time of his death was supervisor of industrial engineering at the Maytag company.
He was active in local scouting programs, the YMCA and was assistant moderator and assistant chairman of the general board of the First Congregational Church. He was a member of the Central Iowa chapter of the American Institute of Industrial Engineers.
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 20th at 10 a.m. in the Newton First Congregational church with burial at a Council Bluffs cemetery.
In addition to his widow, the former Mary M. Spetman of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Mr. Wilson is survived by two sons and two daughters; his mother, Mrs. Carl Wilson of Ames and a sister Mrs. John Schissel of Des Moines.
Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Wilson, Mrs. Lorena Tidrick and Eldon Wilson attended the services in Newton.
