Mrs. Ora Black of St. Charles died Saturday, Feb. 8 at a Des Moines hospital. She was 79 years of age.
Mrs. Black was a life-long resident of Madison and Warren counties. She was the former Flossie Jane Young, daughter of John E. and Mary Simmons Young, and was born near St. Marys Oct. 24, 1889.
She was a member of the St. Charles Christian church. She was married March 5, 1913 to Ora Black, who survives her. She also leaves a son, Roland Black of Indianola; two daughters, Mrs. Ardis Goldsberry of Runnells and Mrs. Betty Armstrong of Storm Lake; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Leatha Snider of St. Charles and Mrs. Vera Hutt of Indianola; and two brothers, Hugh Young of St. Charles and Richard Young of Phoenix, Ariz.
Funeral services were held Feb. 11 from the St. Charles Christian church conducted by the Rev. Tom Foglesong of Des Moines. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
