Israel Miller was born in Hamilton county, Ohio, June 17, 1818. Departed this life May 21, 1912, aged ninety four years, eleven months and four days.

When a small boy, he left Ohio, going to Ripley county, Indiana, where he resided until 1854. Moved to Iowa in 1854 and has lived in this state ever since. He lived on the farm where he died for 44 years.

He was married to Cynthia Dowers July 30, 1848. To this union were born seven children, three boys and four girls, of whom only two are living, Mrs. D. F. Clampitt of this city and Mrs. Will Stock of Omaha. Besides these, he leaves his aged wife and several grand children, and a large number of friends.

Israel Miller of Douglas township, died on Monday night of this week. His health had been on the decline for some time past and the end was not unexpected. Had he lived but a few weeks longer, he would have reached the age of ninety five. An obituary notice in these columns next week.

He joined the Church of Christ when a young man and has lived a Christian life ever since. The funeral was held at Worthington on Thursday, May 22d, conducted by Rev. Bevel. Burial was made at Worthington.
