Funeral services for Merrill "Ol Dad" Crase, 88, are being held Wed., April 22 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor John Safford officiating. Mr. Crase died April 18, 1992, at Mercy Medical Center, Des Moines
He was born October 16, 1903 in Sac County to Joseph Franklin and Lena Myrtus (Rader) Crase and married Dortha Ann Thomas on January 1, 1927 in Corydon. He moved from the Redfield area to Madison County in 1934. He was a farmer and horse breeder and a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and Iowa Quarter Horse Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Surviving are two sons, Merrill Ray of Palm Springs, Calif. and Robert Bernard of Winterset; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Burial is at Fairview Cemetery.
