JACK FARLOW, Wintersest

Jack Farlow, 77, of Winterset, died of a heart ailment March 23, 1997 at his residence. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 27 at 11 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Winterset. The Rev. Bobby Dickerson will officiate the services and burial will be at the Winterset Cemetery. Fraternal services will be provided by Winterset's I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 136.

He was born in Winterset on Sept. 12, 1919 to Ralph Eugene and Edith Deborah (Burke) Farlow. He married Christine Ruth Short on June 4, 1939 in Winterset. He was a retired farmer and had been co-owner and operator of J & D Service Station with his son Dean from 1969 until 1981. He was a lifetime resident of Madison County. He was a 35-year member of I.O.O.F. Madison Lodge #136 and Rebekah Lodge #360. He was also a member of the First Christian Church in Winterset.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothrs.

Surviving relatives include his wife of Winterset; three sons, Ralph Farlow and wife Karen of Manhattan, Mont., LaVerne Farlow of Winterset, and Richard Farlow and wife Nancy of Chesterfield, Mo.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
