Gladys Cook, Winterset

Gladys Cook, 88, of Winterset, died May 28, 1994 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services were May 31, 1994 at the First Christian Church with the Rev. Bobby Dickerson officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

She was born March 8, 1906 to Jessie and Lyda (Eppard) Leeper. She married Emmett Clair Cook in Earlham on December 24, 1925. She was a homemaker and a nurses assistant. She was a graduate of Earlham High School and held a Normal Training Degree from Drake University. She was a lifetime resident of the Earlham and Winterset area.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Surviving relatives include three sons, Kermit Cook and wife Vanna of Muscatine, Keith Cook and wife Joann of Houston, Texas, and Kenneth of Denver, Colo.; one daughter, Kathryn Strong and husband Charles of Brighton, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Christian Church.
