MAXINE LECOCQ, Winterset

Betty Maxine LeCocq, 77, of Winterset, died of a heart ailment Aug. 24, 1996 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services were held Aug. 27, 1996 at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. The service was officiated by the Rev. Dick Ridley, and burial followed at the Winterset Cemetery.

She was born in Madison County May 14, 1919 to John Workman and Pearl (McCleary) Severns. On April 19, 1934 she married Ward W. LeCocq in Indianola. She was a homemaker and a lifetime resident of Madison County.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving relatives include her husband of Winterset; one son, Larry LeCocq and wife Judy of Plano, Texas; two daughters, Shirley Ridley and husband Dick of East Greenwich, RI., and Sandy Wenck and husband Lanny of Winterset; two sisters, Vernal Addy of Winterset, and LaVaun Monroe of Chicago, Ill.; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
