Gladys I. Cooley

EARLHAM-A funeral service for Gladys I. Cooley, 83, of Earlham formerly of Dexter, was held Dec. 21, 1993 at United Methodist Church at Dexter, with burial following at Greenfield Cemetery at Greenfield. Mrs. cooley died of a heart condition on Dec. 18.

The daughter of Otis and Flora McBride, she was born Sept. 17, 1910. She married Vernon Cooley on April 23, 1934. Mr. and Mrs. Cooley owned a cleaning shop in Leon and farmed at Greenfield before purchasing the Dexter Cleaners in 1956.

Mrs. Cooley was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Vernon; by one infant son, Larry Dean; and by one brother, Marvin.

Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Freedline of St. Peters, Mo. and Sherry Spring of Des Moines; one son, Joseph Cooley of Adel; one sister Mabel Meisenheimer of Greenfield; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
