EARLHAM-Robert Walter Belding, 76, of Earlham died of cancer at his home on May 2, 1994. The body was cremated and the family plans a private memorial service and interment of the cremains at Union Cemetery at Guthrie Center.
The son of William and Viola Lewis-Belding, he was born at Lyton on May 17, 1917. He married Hazel M. Hafner on Dec. 24, 1938. They started farming at Bayard in 1938 and continued for 22 years. They also lived at Granite Falls, Minn. and Guthrie Center before retiring to Earlham.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel, of Earlham; four sons, Robert D. Belding of Severn, Md., Dwight Belding of Earlham; Donald Belding of Des Moines and Dale D. Belding of Omaha, Neb.; three daughters, Rosemary Wiemann of Audubon, Roselyn Putnam of Booneville and Rozella Cooper of Earlham; a brother, Raymond Belding of Linden; three sisters, Lenora Cave of Tennessee, June Simansky of Reseda, Calif. and Helen Jarbee of Hemet, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
