MRS. BEN DAVIS Died Wednesday

Mrs. Ben Davis, a resident of Madison county all but seven years of her life, died Wednesday, March 6, 1957, at her home in Winterset. She was 72 years of age, and had been ill the last six years.

Mrs. Davis was the former Millie Pender, daughter of W. H. and Mattie Pender. She was born near Winterset, April 1, 1884. She was married Aug. 17, 1904, to Ben Davis, who survives her.

One son, Sam Davis, preceded her in death. In addition to her husband, she leaves two sons, Harvey L. Davis and Ben Davis, Jr., both of Winterset; a daughter, Mrs. Blanche Stessman of Des Moines, eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a brother, Sherman Pender of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. J. A. E. Cunningham. Burial was made in the Primitive Baptist cemetery northeast of Winterset.
