Services for Wanda Parkins, 57, rural Winterset, who died Sept. 8, a the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, will be held at the Collins Funeral Home on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Michael Crouch of Columbia, Mo., and burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery.
Born at Patterson Oct. 30, 1927, she was the daughter of Ward and Maude Sackett Greenwood. She was a social worker for the Madison County Social Services.
On June 1, 1947, she was married to Melvin Parkins in Winterset.
Survivors include sons, Michael of DeSoto and Martin of Adel; brothers, Walt Greenwood of Aburun, Neb., and George Greenwood of Phoenix, Ariz.,; sisters, Jeanette Forret of Waukee, Ruth Abel of Palo Alto, Calif., and Lela Martin Martin of Winterset; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and an infant brother.
