Helen Parkins, Winterset

Helen Louise Parkins, 74, died June 16, 1993 at Madison County Memorial Hospital. A memorial service was held June 19 at Collins Funeral Home with Rev. David Bauer officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Mrs. Parkins was born February 28, 1919 in Menlo to Ernest and Edith (Calvert) Martens. She married Robert Parkins on February 9, 1941 in Princeton, Mo. She lived here 52 years and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Thursday Guild. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Robert of Winterset; a daughter, Sandra Bowman and husband Phil of Iowa City; two grandchildren, John Barker and Kelly Galloway and two great-grandchildren, Amanda and Zachary.
