Isaac Jessup was born in Indiana May 10, 1824, and died in Scott township, Madison county, Iowa, March 14, 1901. He came to Warren county in 1849, and to Madison county in 1852. His wife was Matilda Brinson and they were the parents of twelve children. The wife and five sons are living. He was a member of Co. F. 4th Iowa infantry and served three full years, from 63 to 65. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. L. E. Follansbee at the residence on Friday, and the remains were buried in the Winterset cemetery.

Isaac Jessup, of Scott township, died at his home this morning. He was an old settler and a member of the 4th Iowa Infantry in the civil war. The funeral will be conducted by Rev. Follansbee at the residence in Scott township tomorrow at 11 a.m. and the remains will be interred in the Winterset cemetery.
