December 2, 1981Marie Carrie Greenwood, a lifetime resident of Winterset, died Sunday, Nov. 29, at Madison County Memorial Hospital. She was 85 years old.
Born in Winterset on April 10, 1896, she was the daughter of Albert and Mary Teays Farlow.
On Feb. 18, 1920, she married Guiher Greenwood in Winterset. Mr. Greenwood died in 1978.
Mrs. Greenwood was a homemaker and also a reporter and linotype operator for the Winterset News and Winterset Madisonian at one time.
She was a member of First Christian Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; 5 brothers and one sister.
Survivors include two sons, Guiher Gene Greenwood of Stuart, Fla., and John Greenwood of Winterset; and two grandchildren, Lynn Greenwood of New York, N.Y. and William Greenwood of Atlanta, Ga.
Funeral services were held Wednesday Morning, Dec. 2, at Collins Funeral Home, Rev. Charles Updike officiating.
Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
