Funeral services for Wendell W. Kirkland, 58, were held January 17, 1976, at 10:00 a.m. at the New Hursen Chapel, Hillside, Illinois. Burial was made in the Freeleaf Heaven Cemetery.
Wendell Wayne Kirkland was the son of William and Lula Kirkland and was born on a farm near Macksburg in Madison County on October 2, 1917.
He served in World War II and since then has made his home in Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and his first wife, Beatrice.
Besides his wife, Helen, he is also survived by two brothers, Cecil Kirkland of Vallejo, California and Engene Kirkland of Huntsville, Alabama; and a sister, Edna Pinckney of Iowa Falls.
