FUNERAL HELD HERE FOR MILES KELLOGG

Funeral services were held Friday from the Anderson home for funerals in Winterset for Miles Kellogg, whose death had occurred July 1 at University hospital in Iowa City. Elder Fred Phipps of LeGrand conducted the services. Burial was made in the Baptist cemetery near Winterset.

Mr. Kellogg was 35 years of age. He was burned May 28 when his tractor explod (exploded at his) farm near Woodward, but apparently death resulted from other complications.

Mr. Kellogg was born near Winterset Aug. 28, 1923, a son of Frank and Marjorie Kellogg. He attended Winterset high school and was in military service from Nov. 19, 1948 to Dec. 16, 1949, serving in the states and on the island of Guam.

He was married Dec. 25, 1952, to Pearl Cooper at St. Charles. They were parents of two daughters, Dixie Lee, aged 5 and Diana Sue, aged 3 and one-half years. The wife and two little girls survive.

He also leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kellogg of Winterset; two sisters Mrs. Edmonia Leonard of Des Moines and Mrs. Elizabeth Greenwood of Winterset; and a brother, Bruce Kellogg of Ames.

Miles Kellogg Dies of Burns

Miles Kellogg, formerly of near Winterset, died this Wednesday morning, July 1, at the State University hospital in Iowa City, as result of burns received about a month ago when a tractor he was operating exploded at Woodward.

Mr. Kellogg was 37 years of age. He leaves a wife, two small daughters, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kellogg, a brother and two sisters.

Funeral arrangements had not been completed as the Madisonian went to press Wednesday, but the body was being brought to Anderson's home for funerals in Winterset.
