Services Held For Frances Clague

Mrs. Frances Clague, who had been in failing health for the past few months, passed away at Madison County Memorial hospital on Saturday, March 20.

Services were held at Early Chapel Christian church Tuesday afternoon, March 23.

Rev. William R. Dilsaver of Des Moines was in charge of services. Burial was in Earlham cemetery.

Before Mrs. Clague became ill she had worked as a bookkeeper at Earlham Savings Bank for seven years.

FRANCES ALICE CLAGUE

Frances Alice Clague was born April 24, 1924, in Des Moines, Iowa to Jessie A. and Elmer F. Chance.

Frances passed away after a lengthy illness at the Winterset hospital on March 20, 1971, at the age of 46 years, 10 months and 27 days.

She was united in marriage to John T. Clague of Earlham on September 27, 1941.

They made their first home on a farm south of Earlham for 20 years, moving into Earlham 10 years ago. She was a member of the Early Chapel church.

To this union were born two children, John T. Jr. and Joanne Elaine.

Preceding her in death were her mother and infant brother. Surviving are her husband John, one son John Jr., and his wife Jenny of Thornton, Colorado, one daughter Joanne Elaine and her husband Norman Renner of Jefferson, Iowa; one grandson Michael Thomas Clague, and two granddaughters Tamara Jo and Nanette Marie Renner; her father Elmer Chance and brother Robert Bruce of Des Moines, and brother David Chance and wife Shirley of Omaha, Nebraska; four nephews, Michael, Steven, Randy and Gary Chance, and a host of friends.
