Clarence Herren Dies, Macksb'g

Clarence Dean Herren, 86, of rural Macksburg passed away Saturday, August 7, 1982 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. He had lived all his life in Madison county.

Clarence Dean Herren was born Sept. 30, 1895, in Macksburg, the son of Fred Corydon and Hannah H. (Mack) Herren. On Feb. 14, 1917, he was married to Anna Joyce Cross at Macksburg. She passed away on May 25, 1930. On April 22, 1931, he married Velma B. Allen in Peru, Iowa, she preceded him in death on Sept. 20, 1977.

He was a farmer, having retired in 1973, and was a member of the Macksburg United Methodist Church.

He is survived by a son, Donald D. Herren of Norwalk, and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wives, his parents; two brothers, Ray and Coyt; and two sisters, Floretta and Lela.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the United Methodist Church in Macksburg in Macksburg with Rev. Kathy Bissen officiating. Burial was at the Moon Cemetery with the Collins Funeral Home of Winterset in charge.
