Vivian McGaffin, Winterset

Vivian Mae McGaffin, 81, of Winterset died of a heart ailment Nov. 25, 2001, at her residence.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with Pastor Robert Barrick officiating. Burial of the cremains will take place at a later date at Oak Grove Cemetery in Corning. Visitation will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 28) at the First United Methodist Church.

Vi McGaffin was born April 11, 1920 to Earl Frances and Grace Mae (Arthur) McClelland of Corning. On April 26, 1941, she married Charles "Mac" McGaffin in Maryville, Mo. A homemaker, she had resided in Winterset for the past 54 years. Vi had been a member of the Thursday Guild, American Legion Auxiliary, National Federation of Republican Women and the First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son and a brother.

She is survived by her husband, Mac, of Winterset; a son, Andy McGaffin (wife Marilyn) of Spencer; a daughter, Christine Johnston (husband Roger) of Indianola; a brother, Art McClelland of Ankeny; four grandchildren; and a great grandson.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the First United Methodist Church in Winterset.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset.
