FERN FOGLER, Winterset

Services for Fern Fogler, 91, Winterset, who died March 24, 1989 at the Care Center North, were held Tuesday, March 29, at the Patterson United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clarence Lautt officiating. Burial was at the Montpelier Cemetery at Patterson.

Born Jan. 19, 1898 in Story County, Iowa, she was the daughter of Albert and Luella Ulum Frey. She was a homemaker and teacher and attended the old Des Moines University and taught at Patterson School.

She was married to Guy Fogler on March 29, 1919 at Patterson.

Mrs. Fogler moved to a farm south of Patterson in 1911 and moved to Winterset in 1968. She was a member of the Pattersn United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, American Legion Auxiliary, and was Covered Bridge Festival queen in 1981 along with her husband who was king.

Survivors include her husband of Winterset; a son, Frank of Atchison, Kan.; daughters, Genevieve Fogler of Urbana, Ill., and Norma Zieman of Van Meter; brothers, Earl Frey of Winterset and Glen Frey of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, five brothers and a sister.
