Edna Faye Creswell, 89, of Earlham, died Oct. 31, 1995 at the Earlham Health Care Center. Funeral services were Nov. 2 at the Penn Center Methodist Church in rural Earlham. The Rev. Harold Koughn officiated the services and burial was at the Penn Center Cemetery.
She was born in Adams County on March 16, 1906 to James R. and Lillian (Jones) Bennett. She married John "Kermit" Creswell on Dec. 25, 1928. She had been a resident of Madison County from 1945-1991 until moving to the Care Center. She was a member of the Madison County Farm Bureau and the Chautauqua Club of Earlham.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; seven brothers; four sister; and one great-grandson.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Jim Creswell and wife Janice of Earlham and Kenny Creswell and wife Lila of Dexter; two sisters, Edith Huffman and June Weaver, both of Creston; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Penn Center Methodist Church.

Dexter, IowaEdna F. Creswell was born March 16, 1906 to James and Lillian Jones Bennett in Adams County, Iowa. Edna was educated in the Macksburg and Zion, Iowa schools, graduating from Zion High School in 1924. Edna was a rural school teacher in Madison, Union and Dallas Counties.
Edna married John Kermit Creswell December 25, 1928 at her parents home in rural Creston. They lived in Dallas and Adair County before moving to their home south of Dexter in Madison County. Edna lived there until February 1991 when she became a resident of the Earlham Health Care Center.
Edna was a Sunday School teacher for many years at the Penn Center Methodist Church. She was a member of the Penn Center Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. Edna was also an active member of the Earlham Chautauqua Club.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband J. Kermit Creswell on August 13, 1964 and one great grandson on October 29, 1992.
Edna is survived by her sons Jim Creswell and wife Janice of Earlham and Kenneth Creswell and wife Lila of rural Dexter, three grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 3 step great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edith Huffman and June Weaver of Creston, Iowa.
Interment in Penn Center cemetery.
