William R. Rouse, 75, of Grand Island, Nebr, died Oct. 25, 1996 at the Community Care center Nursing Home in Grand Island. He had been comatose for 21 years after suffering a massive stroke. Graveside services were held Oct. 28 at the Grand Island Cemetery. The Rev. Jim Keyser officiated the services. The body was cremated.
He was born Dec. 11, 1920 to Riley R. and Margaret (Howell) Rouse at Grand Island, Nebr. He was a graduate of Alda Nebraska High School and Grand Island Business College. He married Madeleine Elise Moulis on March 31, 1945 at Reims, France. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1969 and had served in the European Theatre during W.W. II. He had been a resident of Peru and Winterset before moving to Nebraska.
Surviving relatives include his wife; one son, Billy Rouse of Centralia, Wash.; one brother, Rex Rouse of Winterset; and two grandchildren.
