Betty Lenocker, 81, of Dexter died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.

Services were held Monday, Dec. 8 at the Dexter United Methodist Church, Burial was in Penn Center Cemetery, rural Earlham.

Betty Mardell was born March 28, 1922, in Dexter, the daughter of William and Abbie McMenamin. She graduated from Dexter High School in 1939. She married Ray (Bud) Lenocker on Feb. 26, 1947, in Stuart. They spent their life farming.

She was a member of Dexter Methodist Church. After retiring from farming, she worked at the Dexter Dairy Sweet, Dexter Cafe and Drew's Candy Kitchen.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Bob, Jim, Jack and Frank, and three sisters, Gladys, Mary and Mildred.

She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mary Ann Peer of Des Moines, Susan Clark of Adel and Sandy Henderson of Marion; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Doris Lynch.
