IRA KINGERY DIED HERE WEDNESDAY

Prominent Retired Farmer In Failing Health Three Years

Ira Kingery of Winterset, well-known retired farmer and a resident of Madison county nearly all his life, died last Wednesday, Nov. 8, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. His death ended three years of failing health. He was 80 years of age.

Mr. Kingery was born June 2, 1881, in Monroe county, a son of Reuben and Anna James Kingery. He came to this county with his parents at the age of six months, and lived here until his death. Most of his life was spent farming in Monroe township but he had lived in Winterset in recent years.

He was married June 11, 1902, to Anna C. Davis. They were parents of four children, all of whom survive their father.

He was a member of the Methodist church. For more than 40 years he had been affiliated with the Masonic lodge at Lorimor, and for 38 years with the Modern Woodmen of America.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Thomas of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Catherine Croft of Winterset; two sons, Eugene H. Kingery of Lorimor and Richard I. Kingery of Loveland, Colo.; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and two brothers, Amos Kingery of Lorimor and R. G. Kingery of Eddyville.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Collins Funeral home, with the Rev. Donald Frank in charge. Burial was made in the Lorimor cemetery.
