MILDRED KING OF MACKSBURG DIES

Death Occurred on Sunday At Lorimor at Age of 92 Years

Mrs. Mildred King of Macksburg, a resident of Madison county the last 80 years, died Sunday, Dec. 9, at Lorimor. She was 92 years of age.

Mrs. King was born April 9, 1870, in McLean county, Illinois, a daughter of George W. and Sarah Kingery. In the early 1870's, she came with her parents from Illinois to Marion county, Iowa, making the trip by wagon. About 10 years later they came to Madison County. With the exception of a short period in the state of Washington, the remainder of her life was spent in the Kasson and Macksburg communities.

She was a member of the Macksburg Methodist church.

She was married April 9, 1891, to William F. King of Macksburg. They were parents of two daughters and three sons. She was preceded in death by her husband, the daughters, Sarah King and Mrs. Coyt Herren, two grandchildren and one great grandchild. Surviving are the three sons, George M. King of Lorimor, Kenneth E. King of Des Moines and Elton L. King of Winterset; 12 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and 19 great great grandchildren. She also leaves a half-sister, Mrs. Cloyde Mills, and a half-brother, Wright Kingery both of Winterset.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Macksburg Methodist church, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Donald Frank. Burial was to be made in the Moon cemetery at Macksburg.
