Marjean Parker, 65, of Winterset died of cancer Nov. 11, 2002, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with Pastor Robert Barrick officiating. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 13) at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset with the family present from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be at Winterset Cemetery.
Marjean Parker was born June 29, 1937, in Vinton to Howard and Eva (Adams) Sheckler. A graduate of Nora Springs High School, she attended Iowa State Teachers College where she received a bachelor's degree in education. On March 28, 1959, she married Loren G. Parker in Nora Springs. Marjean, a resident of Winterset since 1959, had taught English in the Winterset Community School District for 25 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Loren G. of Winterset; two sons, Jerry Parker (wife, Jennifer) of Eagan, Minn., and Jim Parker (wife Ellen) of Lakeville, Minn.; and five grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Middle River Hospice or the First United Methodist Church in Winterset.
