Mabel Parker, Winterset

Mabel C. Parker, 83, of Winterset, died of cancer May 17, 1997 at the Community Care Center in Winterset. Funeral services were May 19 at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset. Pastor Jon Gaul officiated the services and burial was at the North McDonald Cemetery in Madison County.

She was born in Madison County on Feb. 8, 1914 to Milo and Josie (Brittain) Hendricks. She was a graduate of Winterset High School. She married Glenn Parker on March 24, 1934 in Madison County. She was a homemaker and a lifetime resident of Madison County. She was a former member of the Jolly Dozen Bridge club; and was formerly involved with various church circles. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother; two sisters; and one grandson.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Loren Parker of Winterset and Larry Parker of Scoolcraft, Mich.; one sister, Shirley Hulbert of Winterset; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
