Everett Thurman, Winterset

Everett D. Thurman, 79, of Winterset, died June 17, 1995, at Madison Cunty Memorial Hospital of a heart ailment. Funeral services were June 20, 1995, at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with the Rev. Walter Williams officiating. Burial was at Barney Cemetery in Madison County.

He was born in Liberty County, Mont., on July 12, 1915, to Jesse and Ada (Moody) Thurman. He married Mary Jane Simpson on Dec. 27, 1941, in Grant City, Mo. He was a retired carpenter and farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and one sister.

Surviving relatives include his wife; a son, Dale Thurman and wife Marlene of Honey Creek; a daughter, Kathleen Kordick and husband Glenn of Winterset; a brother, Leonard Thurman of Fremont, Neb.; two sisters, Wilma Barker of Society Hill, S. C. and Irma McDonald of Osceola; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
