Obituary

Wm. A. Preston Craig died at his home in Winterset, Iowa, Sept, 1, 1891 aged 14 years, 9 months and 4 days. The deceased was the only child of Mrs. Thos. Morris.

Ancil, the name by which he was familiarly known, was a bright, industrious boy, always seemingly happy, having a cheerful word for all. Although not a member of the church, he requested the prayers of the church that he might recover from his sickness adding “if it is the will of God.” He was an active, earnest member of the Sabbath school, and was well advanced in his studies at school, where he was highly esteemed by all teachers and pupils.

Six of his school boy friends did honor to the remains by acting as pallbearers. The floral offerings were beautiful. The burial services were conducted by Elder A. Stiffler and were largely attended.

The remains were conveyed to the Hooten cemetery six and one half miles west of Winterset. The bereaved mother and father have the sympathy of the entire community.
