OBITUARY NOTICE

A Brief Sketch of the Life and Character of Mrs. J. C. Wilson

Died,-At her home in Douglas township, Madison county, Iowa, August 22, 1891, Ann Eliza wife of John C. Wilson, in the sixty-sixth year of her age.

Ann Eliza Mahan, third daughter of Rev. J. B. and Mary Mahan, was born February 18, 1826, in Brown county, Ohio, and was united in marriage to John C. Wilson, of Highland county, Ohio, October 2, 1845. Immediately after their marriage they moved to Iowa, in which state the family have ever since resided.

In early life she united with the New School Presbyterian church, and has continuously held membership in some branch of the same church, except for a short period while she was associated with the denomination known as the "True Wesleyans."

Mrs. Wilson was the mother of four sons and seven daughters. Three sons and three daughters, with her husband, survive her.

Mrs. Wilson was know in the community as an amiable, pious and noble woman. To the family the loss will be irreparable. To them will go out the sympathy of a large circle of friends in their bereavement.

The funeral services were held Sunday, August 23d, conducted by Rev. Mr. Ainsley, of Dexter. The subject of the discourse was the fourteenth chapter of John. The hymns used were Nos. 360 and 361 of "Gospel Hymns No. 4," which were great favorites with Mrs. Wilson.
