NELSON SERVICE Held At Truro

Funeral services for Bert William Nelson were held Tuesday, April 10, at 2 p.m. from the Christian Church at Truro.

Mr. Nelson died April 6, 1979, at his home, route 1, Peru. He was 84 years of age.

A son of William and Eliza Golden Nelson, he was born Dec. 15, 1894 in Union County, south of Lorimor. He attended Madison County schools, and on Feb. 19, 1922 was married to Mabel Ham.

A life-long farmer, he was a veteran of World War I, and a member of the American Legion post at Murray.

He is survived by his wife, Mable, of rural Peru; two sons, Wayne and Raymond Nelson of Truro; a daughter, Mrs. Don Green of Osceola; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Bertha Ham of Winterset.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister, and one grandson.

Officiating at the funeral Tuesday was the Rev. David Wagner of Truro. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery south of Peru.
