Page 1DEATH OF CLAIR FORD
Clair Ford, well-known Madison county man and a World war veteran, died at the Veteran’s hospital in Des Moines on September 6. He was 47 years old, and had been in poor health for years.
He was born in Winterset on January 7, 1887. Through the World war he served with Company M. 132 Infantry regiment, and was honorably discharged on May 11, 1919. For the past nine years he had been employed in Des Moines.
The deceased is survived by his mother, two sisters, Mrs. W. J. Silliman of Towner, Colorado, and Mrs. E. E. Bertholf of Winterset, and three brothers, Roy, Fred, and Guy Ford, all of Winterset.
Funeral services were conducted from the Tidrick Funeral home on Sunday, September 9, by the Rev. H. L. Olmstead. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
