PEARL SHAW, Winterset

Services for Pearl Shaw, 89, Winterset, who died January 12, 1990, at the Bethesda Care Center where she resided, were held Mon., Jan. 15, at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Epperson, officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born in Madison County June 27, 1900, she was a daughter of Alancon and Eva Gorrell Chase. She was married to Glenn V Shaw on December 9, 1920 at Greenfield.

Mrs. Shaw was a resident here for 11 years after coming from her farm in Webster township. She was a housewife, and a former 4-H leader, and a member of the Sunshine Garden Club, Farm Bureau and Madison County Democratic Party.

Survivors include a son, Cecil Shaw of Winterset; a daughter, Lorraine Powell of Winterset; a brother, Harold Chase of Modesto, Calif.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a grandson, two brothers and five sisters.

WINTERSET, IA.—Pearl Shaw, 89, of Winterset died of a heart ailment Friday at Bethesda Care Center. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Collins Funeral Home. Burial will be in Winterset Cemetery.

Mrs. Shaw was born in Madison County. She was a homemaker, a member of Sunshine Garden Club and was a former 4-H leader.

Surviving are a son, Cecil, and a daughter, Lorraine Powell, both of Winterset; a brother, Harold Chase of Modesto, Calif.; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
